Eligibility & Requirements

  • No prerequisites, but medical coding experience is recommended.
  • Without experience, passing the exam grants a CPC-A (Apprentice) certification.
  • To remove the apprentice status, submit two years of coding experience or one year of experience plus completion of an AAPC-approved program.
